I use the cacao nibs in smoothies. I ground the cacao nibs in my Bullet blender, with the grinder blade. The nibs clump up as they grind, but if you shake the grinder a little the nibs grind down to a cacao liquor that is about as thick as peanut butter. Once the consistency is like a smooth spread, then I add it to the other ingredients my other, big blender for making a big batch of smoothies that I drink throughout my day. Cacao nibs that are ground down so very fine are not gritty when added to other ingredients in my smoothies. If there were dirt or pebbles in this product, I would know, since I'm grinding it so finely it turns into a creamy mass, and there is no grit from rocks, sand, or pebbles. Fresh, clean, and very tasty. I'm glad I bought the biggest quantity.
