Okay, let me just get it out of the way; For those of you (us) who go 'gaga' (OCDish) over titled chapters, this book has them. And, they're pretty quirky and storytelling in and of themselves. Man (or woman), the titled chapters alone could be a book. I really liked them *grin*. And, Tara Sivec really knows how to write a story! She's wonderful.Everything I look for and fall in love with in a book/story, Tara Sivec's Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers) has them in spades. With every new tidbit detail I uncovered as the story progressed I was pleasantly elated to read it. She is an outside the box thinker, and it shows in her writing. She has a great talent(ed mind).Moving onward...This book was really REALLY good. It was refreshing to see someone write about a subject matter pertaining to the age old question of: To have kids or not to have kids. I know I've thought about it (as many of us do as we progress into adulthood) and have, in many ways, come to terms with the decision(s) I'VE made.I think that this author, and more importantly, this story, shows us that even when you least expect it, having made the conscious decision to have, or not to have (...and when you've played one too many games of beer pong *grin*) sometimes, it CAN happen to you.So, we have our main character, Claire Morgan, who after making the decision to 'cash in' her V-check is left with a very real, very lifelong, very life changing type of responsibility: Her son Gavin (he's adorable by the way. And funny as all heck. Do kids like Gavin really exist? Love this! =)She does the deed with a 'hot guy' (her words, not mine) and, as is typical when beer, pong, and party are in direct relation with one another, she does not get 'hot guy's name in all of the 'commotion' (Wow, that's a bummer. Ladies, word to the wise...)Fast forward, and fast forward, and fast forward some more...And we are taken to the 'meat' of the story. (Arby's Beef and Cheddar, Anyone?)To how Claire has transitioned from militant in her views of child birth and bearing to navigating through T&T's as Gavin's 'mom'. How she's somehow drifted away from her Viva la Carefree! college days and now, smartly, lives life full of Jose, Johnnie, and B.O.B. (you know, of the battery variety *smirk*). And finally, she finds that life throws curveballs at you in the in-between as well. There is never a dull moment to be found in this TALL (I kid, It's HUGE) tale.Enter love interest and sidekicks:Gavin Morgan, Claire's five year old (outrageously hilarious) son. Carter Ellis, the love interest. Drew Parritt, Carter's sidekick best bud (who in many ways, mirrors a 5 year old Gavin perfectly ; ). Jim Gilmore, the coworker of Drew Carter and fiancé to Liz. Elisabeth (Liz) Marie Gates, BFF and business partner to Claire and also engaged to Jim. George Morgan, Claire's dad, Gavin's papa, and a bad ass ex 'nam Vet (George Morgan isn't afraid to admit he prefers the designated hitter rule). And Jenny, the quirky poor unfortunate mis-languaged do gooder (she's a hoot, and sometimes mildly confusing, but mostly awesome). All of the character's lives (see above) when mixed up like a rushed dinner salad appetizer (similar to an 'everything but the kitchen sink' approach), provide much entertainment and candid interjections into the story plot. This book is hysterical. I couldn't stop laughing the WHOLE ENTIRE STORY. That Gavin, I tell you. Some of the things coming out of that kids mouth?! Ingenious, and surprisingly, innocently endearing (kids say the darndest things). There are so many stereotypical issues that the author, strategically, blows completely out of the water for us, the readers. And, does so throughout all 286 pages. We are left with a very unique, realistic, 'no holds barred' story about ONE NIGHT stands, ONE NIGHT repercussions from said ONE NIGHT stands, and a very truly uniquely told ONE OF A KIND book. This has been, by far, ONE of the funniest, engrossing, entertaining, dialogue driven, fantastic reads I have read in a while.I LOVED this book. And therefore my advice to you would be: You MUST read this book.Buy it. It's worth it. And at a price point of $5.99 why wouldn't you?The Addendum:1. Want a funny no holds barred beach read?: Look no further, you've found it.2. Need a story that takes you 'away' for a while completely engrossing you from the get go?: It's this one.3. Have to find that next 'it' book with refreshing hindsight and great dialogue?: Read. This. Now.4. Planning on buying a book that will make you laugh, and laugh, and laugh out loud?: Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec. Try it out.5. Don't know what to read, but want to read, and only waiting for a few more 5 star reviews on the counter before you're pushed over the edge to click the 'purchase now' button? (are you kidding me with this sh...push the button already?!): I wholeheartedly RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!And that's my story (review), in a nutshell, and I'm sticking to it ; )ReadLoveandbeHappy~Azo
